A design object can only be as good as the materials it is made of. After all, these are the ones that, through their textures, colors, smells and symbolic loads, confer significant richness to the pieces that decorate and give life to our spaces.

3. Polart: Polyurethane. The plastic of the plastic.
POLaRT is a producer of designer furniture. Its impressive furniture is interventions or reinterpretations of historical pieces, such as Baroque furniture or Louis XV style.
However, what really makes this brand special are the materials used to make its products. Through casting processes, they manage to make masterful use of polyurethane, a material usually reserved for other applications.
Thanks to years of experimentation and practice, POLaRT technicians and craftsmen were able to develop techniques that allow them to give different finishes to the polymer, both on the body of the furniture and on its upholstery.
In addition, their colorimetry techniques allow them to offer a huge variety of shades and combinations for their pieces, so that each piece of furniture can be personalized to the degree of being truly unique.
The result of these techniques are pieces that emanate an unusual mix of elegance and distinction combined with the chic look, soft textures and vibrant colors that can only be achieved with polyurethane.

4. Tribute Mx: Copper, Barro.
What gives design pieces authentic value? What distinguishes them from consumer objects? For some, the answer may be “premium” materials, for others what matters is the purity of the formal proposal.
But for Tributo MX, what elevates an object to the level of material poetry is a differentiated elaboration process.

5. Inlaid: Fine woods from all over the world.
The beauty of some materials will never cease to fascinate us, such is the case of wood, which for centuries has been the favorite material of countless artisans and designers.
However, as it is a resource that can take decades and even centuries to renew, in recent years its use has had to decrease and now hardwoods are a luxury that few can afford.
Against this background, Taracea managed to reconcile respect for the environment with the use of wood. All their raw material comes from trees felled by hurricanes or landslides, without damaging the ecosystem in which they are found in the least.
The products in this studio are characterized by unmatched elegance and character. In the words of Javier Suárez: "Our goal is to honor the life of trees and their passage through the world, turning them into an expressive piece"
Without a doubt the choice of the correct materials and the use of suitable processes is the cornerstone of all good design. Did you know any of these firms? What do you think? Tell us in the comments!
